PRE SESSION #1
Building Equity to Close Achievement Gaps

Presented by Jana Beth Francis, Daviess County Public Schools

The new accountability system focuses on closing the achievement gap.  Closing the achievement gap is the current frontier requiring school leaders to try new methods and techniques.  Equity focuses on making sure students get what they need to be successful. This session will introduce the building equity taxonomy created by Smith, Fisher, Frey and Pumpian.  Participants will receive tools to examine achievement gaps in their buildings. The purpose of the session is to use equity as a lens for examining student achievement and provide participants with a blueprint for school improvement.  The interactive session will model how to use student achievement data and the equity taxonomy to close achievement gaps.

PRE SESSION #2

Three Guys and Some Technology

Presented by Chad Molley, Erlanger/Elsmere School District, Joe Prather, Jefferson County & Jeff Stamper, Wolfe County Schools
